The idea for Work • Space • Spark was an ah-ha moment I had when I realized the disconnect many in the working world had in understanding how their personal brand was directly related to their career growth. Their personal brand being how they ‘show up’ for work and what their workspace says about them.
See, I taught a lot of career and money sessions to corporate and civic groups. I could tell by the questions and statements that there was a gap, but there wasn’t anyone to help them with the ‘real’ of how to succeed in their corporate environments. Many didn’t have a mentor or sponsor at their organizations to help them understand the unwritten rules and master them.
I knew from my own experience that many people did not equate productivity, effectiveness or personal brand to their workspace either.
I was fortunate enough to have people help me along the way in my career and I wanted to offer something fun and functional. So welcome to Work • Space • Spark!
I’m a graduate of Davenport University, where I received a Master’s in Finance. I built a corporate career in finance, compliance and operations, in addition to teaching career and money professional development, so I get where you’re at, I understand the goals and frustrations of today’s working professionals.
I lead you through career training, personal branding and financial growth in a way that’s actionable and builds confidence. An entrepreneur at heart, I’ve been financially empowering thousands of people for over a decade as the Founder and CEO of #MoneyChat as well, a personal finance and business coaching brand.
I’m an author, speaker and community builder featured in various national media, including Black Enterprise, U.S. News, USA Today, Huffington Post, Go Banking Rates and Experian.
I also know how important work/life balance is, (though, I still mess this up sometimes too LOL). I try to be intentional about life outside of the office. In my downtime I love to explore off the beaten track fun, the beach and Detroit Style Ballroom Dancing… well, any dancing for that matter! I love all genres of music!
